When my grandma Harriet passed away in January of 2005, I had just begun handcrafting fabric brooches. I decided to name the line of accessories after her, knowing she would have loved my new venture.
One of the last times I sat by her bed, grandma commented on how much she loved the necklace I was wearing and we joked about how, much to my mother's dismay . . . we always agreed on jewelry and politics.
